PTSD Memorial at Barrhead FoundryThe ground has been broken and soil dug out and the concrete foundation cast for the Incorporation’s memorial planter/seat to be constructed at the Foundry in Barrhead in association with the Waterworks Voluntary Group. The memorial is in remembrance of those who have succumbed to the effects of PTSD. The stone for the memorial was delivered ready for building.
On 30 April, second year stonemasonry students, Thomas Lamington, Jason Young, Joseph Purcell and Ronan Edmunds from City of Glasgow College volunteered to build the base courses of stone for the memorial. They will use this experience to record in their site evidence portfolios setting out and building ashlar walling. Construction of the memorial will continue as restrictions allow since the site where it is being built is being used as a Covid Vaccination Centre, and access is not available when vaccinations are being carried out. |
