The Master Court

The Master Court is the group which organises the affairs of the Incorporation on a daily basis.  It consists of the Deacon, Collector, Late Deacon, Late Collector and these make up the Platform which is a sub committee which meets prior to each Master Court to forward plan and guide the meeting.

The remainder of the Master Court consist of a number of Honorary Life Members who are Past Deacons who have held the position of Deacon Convener of the Trades House of Glasgow and a number of members elected by the craft.

The Deacon chairs the Master Court meetings and is the highest office which a craftsperson can attain.

The Collector acts as treasurer for functions that he/she organises throughout the year.

The Late Deacon was the Deacon the previous year and helps to achieve continuity with the new Deacon.

The Late Collector is the person who was the Collector the previous year and has a fallow year in preparation of becoming the Deacon the following year.

Past Deacons also serve on the Master Court and they are people who have held the position of Deacon in the past and offer help, guidance and assistance in the running of the Incorporation.

Craftspeople who have not as yet held any position in the Incorporation also serve on the Master Court and hopefully they will become Collector and Deacon at a later date.
